Its been quite the hiatus for me. I hadn't realized how long it has been since I've made a post. Hopefully with the weather starting to get nicer, I'll be able to go out and shoot more. Our beloved brother Eric had a birthday a couple weeks ago and to celebrate we went down to the shore. Yes, in April, we decided to go to the beach and I must say it was amazing!
Some pictures from a great time hiking at Minnewaska State Park.
Wow, what a great birthday! I can honestly say that this was the best birthday in my 24 years on this Earth. I really don't like making a big deal about my birthday, but it was nice having people in my life show their love and support in who I am and in the things I do. It really means more than I can express. So thank you everyone for the best birthday and thank you Hannah especially for setting everything up and planning everything! With the help and loving support of friends and family, I got a new camera! The beautiful Nikon D700! I love it. Simple as that haha. I got to test it out with Hannah while we made some homemade burgers with sweet potato fries. Which was delicious and surprisingly not too hard. We followed that by a lovely stroll in the park and a surprise birthday dinner at a Brazilian restaurant. Amazing and delicious! I realized that I don't have the best surprised/excited reaction...something to work on haha. Thank you guys so much for everything!
Our waiter had a hard time taking pictures, but I still like how this came out :)
Its that time of year. Everyone feels like they have a clean slate and its the perfect opportunity to start something you want to accomplish. People make resolutions about all sorts of things, most of which revolve around looks and more specifically weight. My one and only resolution is really simple in concept but difficult in practice, be a better man. This means be a better son, brother, boyfriend and friend. Now how do I do that...I guess I'll have to figure that part out haha. Although I think a good start for me is in the Bible: [pullquote foo="bar" author="1 Timothy 6:11-16"] But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.[/pullquote]
Besides that being my resolution for the new year and really the rest of my life, I do have things I want out of this year that are less dramatic:
- Cook more/learn how to cook
- - Specifically I really want to learn how to make pad thai, my favorite!
- - This is a general goal, but I am trying to read the whole Bible this year.
- Take more photos
- - Part of what this blog is for me; my creative outlet.
Thats it! Easy right? Definitely not, but thats the point of resolutions right? To pick something that will bring you closer to the person you want to be and thats not and easy thing. So I hope you guys are ready to keep me accountable to this!
Phew I finally feel like I can catch my breath a little bit. This weekend was packed (at least for me). Saturday night I went to my first Starfield concert and it was amazing! It reminded me of how awesome real worship can be. Now if only I can play/sing like them. It also made me really want to buy an electric and learn how to play it haha. So amazing!
Camping is usually reserved for the warmer months, but when you have friends like mine that doesn't matter. So here we are in December going camping. As you can imagine it was freezing. Still spending some quality time with the guys was a lot of fun as always.
